At the age of ten I travelled
to Africa where I first discovered real percussive music. Experiencing
the true nature of African drumming, listening to both local drummers
and some of the best drummers in the country. This experience inspired
my interest in percussion and has encouraged me to incorporate world percussion
into my own and other's music. I feel music is an excellent way of breaking
down barriers, as it inspires creativity and allows people to express
their emotions in a universal language.
